PERFECT ALIGNMENT

Rev. Mary Louise Ruffner

(REVISITED)

“Healing is not a process but a revelation; for the revealing of the perfect man always heals. The process, if there is one, is the time and thought that it takes to arrive at the correct understanding of man’s perfect state in Spirit.”
~ The Science of Mind (Ernest Holmes) ~

“Quantum Physics is more than physics: it is a new form of mysticism, which suggests the interconnectedness of all things and beings and the connection of our minds with a cosmic mind.”
Carl Gustav Jung, Quantum Physics, and the Spiritual Mind (Diogo Valadas Pointe, and Lothar Schafer) ~

“How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed.”
~ Amazing Grace (John Newton) ~

Ancient Wisdom and New Thought have provided guideposts that are encouraging to those traveling the road of enlightenment. Guideposts that say, “Seek and you shall find;” “Ask and it shall be given;” “Your faith has made you whole;” “As above, so below;” “What you conceive and believe, you can achieve;” “Where attention goes, energy flows.” The proverbs, clichés, and platitudes go on and on. The point is, the universe reveals Its nature whenever the Invisible Presence is touched with a sincere curiosity about one’s relationship to the Whole. In such occasions, the essence of all things is revealed to the seeker of Truth.

Whether you ponder the meaning of life from a philosophical, scientific, or a religious perspective, you will always bump into the mysticism of spirituality at the core. Here, the word spirituality is being used in the context of, “an atmosphere of goodness, truth, and beauty,” as described by Ernest Holmes.

It does not matter if you use a process of deductive reasoning, the application of an infallible principle, or engage in sacred prayer; your soul’s sincere desire positions you to discover there is One Infinite Presence and Power operating in and through absolutely everything. The moment you become aware of this Unified Field of Life; your journey of awakening to your true nature has begun.

For many, it is the intellect that first grasps the concept of oneness and begins to consciously align with the nature of First Cause (natural goodness, truth, and beauty in all things). This is accomplished through regular spiritual practices.  Soon, an optimistic attitude is developed toward life. However, this positive outlook does not suggest we put our heads in the sand, saying all is well when it is not. In his book, Living the Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes writes: “We do not say that people are not poor, sick, or unhappy. We ask why these things should be if the Original Cause of all things is Harmonious, Perfect, Radiant, and Happy.”

The student of Truth continues to affirm the great vision of Love, Harmony, Peace, Health, and Prosperity that is in the midst of all things, regardless of appearances, until the perception of Wholeness is embodied in one’s mind. The moment this possibility is fully realized, then through faith and acceptance, tangible results follow.

The integrity of the universe is Love and Law. Love, the deeply felt connection with the desired result points the way, while the immutable law of Cause and Effect makes the way possible. This creative power is within every one of us, without exception.

There are unlimited possibilities for good stretched before us all. What is commonly called a “miracle,” is that one moment in time when the Energy we call prayer is in perfect alignment with that which we accept as the answer.

GRACE

Rev. Mary Louise Ruffner

“It is your Father’s good pleasure to give. . .”
~ Luke 12:32 ~

“Faith is the substance . . .”
~ Hebrews 11:1 ~

“—all’s love, yet all’s law.
~ Robert Browning ~

When the good we desire is secretly lodged in the quietness of our hearts, and then, suddenly, that good appears in a practical, tangible way, we are amazed by this “glad surprise.” At such times as these, there is a deep sense of The All-Pervasive-Presence that is ever so near. In this exalted state of acceptance, praise, and thanksgiving, there is a tendency for the one who receives this divine grace to express heartfelt gratitude, and in so doing, provides an opening for even greater and greater good to unfold as health, wealth, harmonious relationships, or whatever it is the heart longs for.

Truth be told, there is never a time when we are separated from this magnificent Law of Good. Actually, it is our very own words, thoughts, and feelings. These creative forces, the ceaseless activity of the mind, when filled with conviction, become visible. They become the people, places, and things we have imagined life to be.

When we become conscious of this phenomenon, just as great thinkers and mystics before us have; we begin to use this powerful Law of Mind for specific purposes. We begin unleashing unity, peace, beauty, wisdom, and intelligence into the world through our words and actions. This spiritual consciousness perpetuates a world that works for everyone.

The choice to align one’s self with the rhythm of the Divine Mind in whom we live, move, and have our being, takes courage and discipline. In some instances, we may experience an “exact struggle of the soul;” especially when one’s gaze has been a downward view of apparent conditions. However, we may be assured, the former things that no longer serve begin to fall away when the creative energy of our words, thoughts, and feelings no longer sustain them.

In some ways the choice means being a mid-wife to one’s own new birth; providing self-care and an unwavering faith that affirms that what awaits you, is indeed an expanded life of the Light. The awakened one begins to see as God sees . . . Omnipotent Good at every turn.

In summary: Practicing the presence of a Power for Good operating in the universe by affirming absolute oneness with It, causes a breakthrough in consciousness that gives birth to a higher sphere of life, living, and purpose. The evidence, or manifestation that shows up is the natural, necessary, and logical outcome of the mindset one has entertained and embodied.

Meditation, Life Visioning, Spiritual Mind Treatment, Inspired Reading, and Journaling are some spiritual practices that are supportive in attaining a realization of the Truth that sets us free from every sense of limitation.

SING YOUR SONG

Rev. Mary Louise Ruffner

(Revisited)

There are those who study the reliability of the universe. These scientists pass on their findings to whomever is open to receive them. Of course, the universe is too vast for scientists to study all the expressions of life with detailed attention, so they specialize their focus.

While sciences vary, all Laws and Principles, the Infallible and Invisible Cause behind everything, are actually the One Presence, God, making Itself known throughout all nature.  All Life is The One Life expressing.

Regular readers of this blog have no doubt noticed that I love talking about the Law or Science of Mind and how it works in the human experience.

I enjoy exploring the idea that I AM the image and likeness of God. In so doing, I discover there are infinite possibilities for the expression of good to flow through me. I prepare a way to receive these gifts of life by practicing my true nature in everything I think, say, and do. I forgive myself quickly if I miss the mark, and simply begin again.  I enjoy passing on my findings to those who are open to receive the good news about this inherent nature.  After all, “It’s in every one of us.”

~ ~ ~ ~

There is a natural rhythm to everything that occurs in the universe. Sometimes this rhythm is obvious and other times it is obscured by circumstances. For example, although the sun rises and sets with mechanical precision; nonetheless, on a cloudy or foggy day, the overcast may be so great that reality is hidden from sight.

However, no matter how long the darkness lasts, there is unwavering faith that sings: The sun’ll come out tomorrow ~ Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow ~ There’ll be sun.”

On a clear day, when the magnificence of the universe fills our awareness with its divine order, stunning beauty, and provision for every living thing, the soul of nature lifts its voice in universal praise, singing: “How Great Thou Art!”

~ ~ ~ ~

Similarly, there is a rhythm to individual life that operates in the microcosm exactly as it does in the macrocosm. Sometimes the perfection that each one of us is, is heavy laden with the conditions of living.

Unlike the sun, however, as self-conscious beings of choice, we have been “conditioned” to identify with what arises. Sometimes there is a tendency to claim the thing that is hiding the reality of who we really are, believing it is who we are. For example, one may say, “I am sick; I am poor; I am scared; I am lonely,” etc., etc., while all the time these conditions can be likened to the clouds and fog hiding the sun. They hide who we really are.

However, with an insight of Wholeness, the whole picture may change in an instant. Ernest Holmes teaches, “Change your Thinking, Change Your Life. Paul of the Bible says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Obviously, they both agree, along with many great thinkers throughout the ages, that there is a power for good at hand right now. It is the power of choice operating in the mental realm of our own being. You may begin singing, “Born Free.”

~ ~ ~ ~

There are individuals, right now, who may be heavy laden with physical conditions who never lose their sense of Self. While they do not deny the experience or the appearance of the circumstances; they navigate through them, embracing the wisdom of science that supports their physical healing. At the same time, these individuals unify and identify with the inner feelings of Light, Love, Peace, Joy, and Abundance, the true nature of individual being. These individuals sing: “I Love Myself…Just the Way I AM.”
