THE GIFT OF SILENCE

“Meditation quiets conscious thought and the physical realm, making a doorway to spiritual awareness.”

There it is a place of perfect peace at the center of each one of us. It is The One Infinite Life that permeates all time and all space. It has no beginning and no ending. It is that point of stillness within us that is the creative energy and healing power that makes all things new.  It is in this sea of unlimited potential that all individual life lives, moves, and has its being. It has been called the Over-Soul.

“Any person with training can reach this soul. Only then can you be convinced of its presence. When you reach it, your body and mind will become irrelevant, for you are now as a state beyond the senses and beyond thought. The soul is called absolute because it is beyond all relativity.” ~365 Tao ~

While a diligent practice of silent meditation is a great, mystical, and effective way through which we experience our unity with the Divine; it requires mental stamina in order to consciously move through the distracting thoughts that delay the process of stilling the mind. Stilling the mind does not mean eliminating thoughts, for they are always there. However, it does mean rising above and transcending thoughts of limitation, fear, and separation. Otherwise, we are pulled off course.

Our course, in attaining the silence of Pure Consciousness, must be one of total focus on the field of omnipotent no-thing -ness. It is the return to the beginning before thought and form and simply hangs out in the essence of The Divine. Here there are no words or concepts to decipher. There is nothing to plan or visualize. It is simply a time to feel the vibration of Love bubbling up as Peace, Harmony, Beauty, Joy, Wisdom, and Sufficiency.

It is through the consistent practice of this silent meditation of the soul that renewed strength, wisdom, and courage express through you as you step back into the realm of effects.    Your consciousness of  Love, Peace, Harmony, Beauty, Joy, Wisdom, and Sufficiency begin to infuse matters of health, relationships, finances, creative expression, and anything else your heart longs to experience. Yes, after basking in the consciousness of The Divine, the world is lifted to a higher vibration. The life-enhancing qualities that you have freely received are now freely given by you, to everything you think, say, and do.

Like a great contagion, the overflow of enlightened consciousness begins to touch individual minds.  When this happens, through the Immutable Law of Mind in Action, there follows an inflow of peace on earth and good will towards all the inhabitants of the earth.

You may say I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us. And the world will live as one.”

Illumination to Initiation

“Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”
~ King David, Psalm 139:6 ~

~ ~ ~ ~

The profundity and far-reaching implications of the above quotes may cause you to pause, contemplate, and meditate on the messages these mystics impart.

You may find yourself questioning your understanding of what you thought you understood. Thoughts may arise like: Are the words of these enlightened ones to be taken literally; or are they simply metaphors to motivate us into action that may or may not yield the expected end? What is the difference between spirituality and religiosity? Do the terms, “The Presence” and “God” have different connotations? What do words like Spirit and Anthropomorphic infer?

The process of reconciling these thoughts to the point of clarity for yourself often leads one to a crossroad. What do you now do with your new-found knowledge or convictions? One thing for sure, you cannot unring the bell, or un-know what you know. On the other hand, old habits die hard.

Breaking agreements with the beliefs, values, associates, actions, language, etc., that do not support your vision, yet have become the default response to what you experience in the world, takes courage. It is not for the faint of heart.   It requires a consistent mental practice of standing porter at the door of your mind. It means being in full charge and taking responsibility for your thoughts and actions. As a result of such a practice, you move into the high vibration of being an Intentional Being.

“Whenever a new spiritual idea is introduced into the mind, some negative belief is disturbed. ”
~ (TruthUnity.net) ~

It is to the degree that old ideas begin to break up in the mental realm, that their counterparts in the physical realm, having nothing to sustain them, begin to break up. This process may include the falling away of relationships, employment, food, entertainment, and whatever else that does not serve this Illumined consciousness. The Law is perfect, “as above, so below.”  This process of chemicalization is sometimes described as the dark night of the soul, while actually, it is the fulfillment of the promise, “I will make all things new.”   Oriah Mountain Dreamer challenges us “to see beauty even when it is not pretty.”

This Initiation ushers you into a higher vibration of life and living, attracting into your experience a greater awareness of fulfilling relationships, greater self-expression, perfect health, joy, and prosperity in everything you think, say, and do. You become a greater outlet through which Love, Peace, Harmony, Wisdom, Power, Beauty, Abundance, and Joy flow with ease and grace.

The Power of a Made-Up-Mind

Rev. Mary Louise Ruffner

“To manifest, means to show forth or to make evident. Everything we see – plants, animals, man/woman, every visible thing — is a manifestation of God, differing only in degree.  ~ As we make conscious use of the Law, planting an idea in Mind and watching it come forth into form, into objectivity, we are producing a manifestation.”
~The Science of Mind, page 608 ~

” Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.”

~ St. Francis of Assisi ~

There’s a lot of talk these days about how to manifest the desires of the heart. At the same time, many people have begun to realize that there has never been a time that humanity has not manifested its environment. After all, every time we imagine moving forward with a project, interviewing for a new job, meeting a friend for lunch, or enrolling in a class, we have set ourselves up for the manifestation of our reverie. We have tapped into an irresistible Law of Mind in Action.

No, we are not magicians, mastering certain tricks for our personal delight. Our method is to simply respond to the Divine Urge within us that is forever seeking a greater expression of goodness through us. Our receptivity and alignment with the Indwelling Spirit are sufficient enough to clothe high-minded thoughts with the particular forms we desire to experience.

~ ~ ~ ~

Ancient Wisdom tells us, “Seek first the kingdom of heaven and these things will be added unto you.”  The kingdom of heaven is that realm of pure consciousness within us that is always harmonious; always peaceful; always loving; always beautiful; always wise; always joyful; always powerful; and always present. Are these not the qualities we desire to see, hear, taste, smell, and touch in our daily lives?

What we are learning is, we are surrounded by a creative medium, an energy field, that receives the direct impression of our beliefs, both positive and negative. Yes, the “things” in our lives are the logical outcome of our thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. Therefore, it only makes sense to nurture the high ideals of the Spirit, knowing that they become the substance of the things hoped for and the evidence of the things not seen.

~ ~ ~ ~

What if we, the citizens of Planet Earth, began to imagine the ever-present heavenly qualities of Harmony; Peace; Love; Beauty, Wisdom, Joy; Power; and Abundance, infused in “every area of the political, corporate, academic, and social sector, providing sustainable structures to further the emerging global consciousness?” According to The Law of Mind, would we not manifest a world that works for everyone?

We can each start right now; right where we are.  Whenever we make up our minds regarding what is ours to do, and act upon it, we become a beneficial presence in the world. All things are possible to manifest through the power of a made-up mind.

SELF Expression

Rev. Mary Louise Ruffner

“Truth is that which is. It is the Reason, Cause, and Power in and through everything. It is Birthless, Deathless, Changeless, Complete, Perfect, Whole, Self-Existent, Causeless, Almighty, God, Spirit, Law, Mind, Intelligence, and anything and everything that implies Reality. “
~ The Science of Mind, page 639 ~

~ ~ ~ ~

Reality actually means that which is indestructible, incapable of decay. Reality is unchanging and everlasting. The self we see is what man has thought about himself, the form he has molded by his thought. The Real Self is Perfection, for God could not know anything unlike Himself. Our Sonship is Reality – the Christ abiding in us. The Kingdom of God within us is Reality. Reality, as concerning man, is that God in man, as man, is man.”
~ The Science of Mind, page 624 ~

~ ~ ~ ~

Perception is a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression.”
~ The Oxford Online Dictionary ~

~ ~ ~ ~

Words can be tricky, especially when the effort is to distinguish spiritual things from material things. The Reality is, there is One Universal Self, whose three-fold nature is Spirit, Soul/ Mind, and Body, in all, through all, and as all. Actually, there is no line of demarcation where This One begins and ends.  The Invisible First Cause or The Absolute, Changeless, Pure Essence at the center of everything is Ultimate Reality.  The ever-changing forms in the physical world, experienced through the senses, are the relative. They are the logical results of our beliefs about who we are.

While the Changeless Reality of Peace, Love, Harmony, Beauty, Abundance, Joy, Wisdom are forever intact, and is the True Self, or Presence of God within every one of us; we perceive our identity based on the experiences we encounter.  Thus, the expression, “perception is reality.”

Whatever we believe to be true about life has a tendency to out-picture as the people places, things and the conditions we experience. It is not surprising that we have measured reality (up until now) according to the false evidence appearing as if it is the truth. We actually refer to it as “my truth.”

So, the question is, how do you perceive reality based on the world of effects that you presently experience? What are you telling yourself about yourself that is not true?  What are you telling yourself about the people, places you encounter day in and day out?  Are you ready to become a greater version of yourself? The potential for expressing our True Self is unlimited.  However, we cannot heal what we do not acknowledge needs healing; i.e., restored to wholeness.

The lovely thing about the unity of all life is, when any one of us is lifted into a higher vibration of Self-expression; the consciousness of humanity is simultaneously lifted to some degree. We each make a difference in the total scheme of things.  Let us begin by feeling, sensing, and embracing our nature of Peace, Love, Harmony, Beauty, Abundance, Joy, and Wisdom.

THE PROCESS OF HEALING

Rev. Mary Louise Ruffner

“Perfect God, perfect man, perfect being.”
~ Ernest Holmes ~

“Can you see beauty even when it’s not pretty?”
~ The Invitation, Oriah Mountain Dreamer ~

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
~ John 8:32 (NIV) ~

According to The Oxford Dictionary, the word “healing” means, “The process of making or becoming sound or healthy again.”  ‘Becoming healthy again,’ suggests that one’s natural state is wholeness; i.e., spirit, mind, and body in perfect alignment. It further suggests that there is a way, or method through which a perfect healing may be realized.

Ernest Holmes, the author of The Science of Mind, states, “The whole idea of healing, when understood, is the substitution of Truth for sense-testimony.”  Here, he provides a clearly defined process for becoming whole, not only in our physical body, but the body of our affairs. He tells us that even while there is apparent evidence of lack, limitation, fear, anxiety, bigotry, or any disorder, begin to acknowledge our true nature that is always whole, complete, and perfect, and knows nothing of sickness, lack, failing relationships, or suffering of any kind.   In other words, begin to tell ourselves the Truth about our inherent nature in spite of the condition we may be experiencing. This method is called Spiritual Mind Healing.

 Our natural state of being is the image and likeness of God. God is the Invisible Presence of Peace, Harmony, Love, Joy, Wisdom, Beauty, Abundance, and all that is everlasting goodness. As we embody this Truth of who we truly are, the creative energy of Divine Mind receives the vibrational tone of our beliefs and feelings and becomes our experiences in the world. In other words, when the qualities of The Divine are deeply felt within one’s self, as one’s self, they cannot help but express as that individual.

When concepts of Oneness and Unity are not only intellectualized, but are internalized and embraced as the absolute reality about life, and practiced accordingly, soon a new pattern is established. The former erroneous thoughts and beliefs that say, God and me; them and us, sickness and health, etc., will fall away naturally, dissolving into the native nothing from whence they came.

This does not mean we deny the experience or the condition that is showing up in the physical or emotional realms.

Self-care includes pursuing professionals and modalities that offer relief and alleviate discomfort. It does mean, however, that we consistently remember who we are as defined by our inherent nature.

The healing process involves aligning one’s self with The Changeless Truth at the center of our being.  Actually, the only thing that ever needs to be healed, is the belief in separation.

The Prayer of Faith by Hannah More Kohaus affirms:

God is my health, I can’t be sick;
God is my strength, unfailing, quick;
God is my all; I know no fear,
Since God, and Love, and Truth are here.
